The Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection increases production and provides sufficient food by producing technical knowledge on pest, disease ,and weed management and reducing the damage caused by these agents. The internal assessment of IRIPP was conducted in 1402 by examining five factors, including objectives based on the operational program, planning and support (facilities, credits, and budget), human resources, and education and extension in the evaluation committee. The level of desirability of the above factors was examined with 65 criteria and 110 indicators. In the factor of objectives based on the operational program, out of 29 items evaluated in this factor, 20 items (69%) have been realized at a rate of 100% or more than 100%, which is considered very desirable. Also, three items (10%) have a realization of 50% (Average) and in 3 cases no activity has been carried out. In addition, in three of the 29 cases evaluated in the objectives factor, there was no demand from the relevant sectors due to their type. The evaluation of the research and technology factor showed that most of the projects (63%) were of an applied type with an extension type and technological projects accounted for a smaller percentage (11%). The number of pilots implemented is in a favorable state and indicates the favorable activity of the institute in the penetration of knowledge in the field. Also, 20% of the final reports with technological output resulted in technical knowledge that can be published in the book of extension findings of Agricultural Research,Education and Extension Organization (AREEO), and five of these cases were transferred to the private sector by concluding a research contract. In addition, the institute's activities in the field of biodiversity are in a very favorable state with the registration of 10 genes and the description of 61 new species worldwide. In the education and extension factor, considering the indicators announced in this evaluation and considering the realized activities and continuous educational and extension cooperation carried out by the faculty members and researchers of the institute, the evaluations in the form of eight criteria and 14 indicators indicate that the level of the education and extension factor was very desirable. The evaluation of the planning and support factor (facilities, credits and budget) in case of credits and budget showed that the amount of cost credits increased from 60 billion tomans in 1401 to 93 billion tomans in 1402, with a growth of more than 50 percent, and the amount of property credits has also increased significantly. Regarding the human resource factor, despite the attraction of new forces during several calls, the human resource pyramid still has many shortcomings. Regarding the human resource factor, given that the service years of most of the institute's employees (researchers, faculty members, and support staff) are more than 20 years and the retirement rate is several times the rate of new recruitment.
