The possibility of using the diversity in fodder beet populations for the preparation of breeding pure lines is one of the important steps in achieving breeding hybrids with special characteristics. In this research, investigating the yield potential and characteristics of fodder beet families in autumn sowing conditions is the most important improvement goal. In order to purify fodder beet populations in terms of color, shape and smoothness of root skin, the seed of 7 fodder beet families that were selected from 50 families following preliminary evaluations in Khuzestan region and based on the level of resistance to bolting and under the codes 990090, 990091, 990093, 990101, 990120, 990130 and 990133 were cultivated in the beginning of July 2021 in the selection farm located in the Torog agricultural research station in Mashhad. In December of the same year, 15 populations were selected from the Mashhad selection plot based on the color of roots, leaves and root shape. Then in March 2022, they were cultivated in separate isolated plots. In July 2022, seeds of 15 single plants were harvested from each isolate, and in the middle of October 2022, 92 families related to all isolates were selected and evaluated along with two control varieties resistant to bolting in Khuzestan region. Finally, based on the characteristics of the final percentage of bolting, shoot and root performance, and root color purity, fodder beet families No. 01020, 01008, 01022, 01026 and 01081 were introduced as the superior families in the present experiment.
