Autumn cultivation of sugar beet is important due to the use of rainfall during the growth period and higher efficiency of water consumption. In Khorasan province, if the proper planting date (1-10 Oct.) is not observed, this crop faces the risk of bolting and frost. Damage to birds is also significant in some areas. The determination of this cultivation time range was based on the research of the past 20 years and old cultivars, in recent years climatic changes have also been evident and new cultivars have been improved and introduced. In this research, in order to update the range of planting date, a project during two crop years 2021 and 2022 and in four regions of Sarahks, Roshtkhwar, Jovin and Mashhad, an experiment with four planting dates (20 Sep., 1 Oct., 10 Oct. and 20 Oct. ) and four cultivars (two cultivars resistant to the old bolt (Monotono and Rosagold) and two cultivars resistant to the new bolt (Ratna and Bifort)) were implemented. The results of this research showed that the highest root yield with 67.42 tons is related to the date of 1 Oct.. On this date, sugar yield and pure sugar yield were the highest with 11.40 and 8.73 tons per hectare, respectively. According to the results obtained for the values of gross sugar yield and pure sugar yield and according to the percentage of bolt that causes problems in the cutting of sugar beet in the factory and at the time of harvest, the planting date range is 1October using varieties resistant to bolt such as Monotono, Rosagold and Ratna are recommended.
