The cropping pattern program has been developed with the aim of improving food security, protecting basic land resources, promoting employment and income for farmers, and paying special attention to the limitations of water and soil resources, changes in climatic factors, the occurrence of continuous droughts, and considering the land’s capacity, scientific considerations, and ecological capacities. Therefore, monitoring the cropping pattern is necessary for evaluating, correcting, and updating expected outcomes and achieved results, providing feedback to the program’s developers and implementers, addressing weaknesses, and strengthening its strengths. Lorestan province, a high-altitude and predominantly mountainous region where more than 70% of its area consists of forests and pastures, has a higher unemployment rate than the national average. This province has a potential for agricultural production, especially for Camelina. The results of the cropping pattern evaluation in the 2023-2024 agricultural year showed that the cultivated area, yield, and production of crops, as well as the implementation of irrigation systems, were evaluated as appropriate for increasing water efficiency. The results showed that the mechanization coefficient was not projected for the current agricultural year, but the penetration coefficient of certified seeds was achieved to a significant extent. Also, the results showed that the greenhouse construction program, the amount of consumption of various fertilizers in all crops, and educational and promotional programs have been achieved adequately. Overall, it is suggested that policymakers and officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with governmental institutions and the Islamic Consultative Assembly, should cooperate in the approval of supportive laws in the field of cropping patterns.
