This research was conducted to evaluate the agronomic characteristics and grain yield of three new bread wheat lines, M-99-9, MDH-99-10, and M-99-15, in farmers' field conditions during 2023-24 crop season. These lines were selected from adaptability trials of promising bread wheat lines in moderate regions of Iran. Amin and Danesh cultivars were considered as commercial local checks. This project was conducted in the Marvdasht (Hassan-abad) and Kherameh (Moez-abad-jaberi) regions of Fars province. Each of the cultivars and lines was cultivated in an area of 2000 m2. To induce terminal drought stress in Kherameh, irrigation was stopped at the beginning of flowering stage. Traits such as grain yield, thousand kernel weight, plant density, days to heading, days to physiological maturity, plant height, lodging, and diseases were recorded. The results showed that under favorable irrigation conditions in Hassan-abad region of Marvdasht, lines MDH-99-10, M-99-9 and M-99-15 had yields of 10451, 10367 and 9400 kg ha-1, respectively. Grain yield of Amin and Danesh were 9401 and 8850 kg ha-1, respectively. In terminal drought stress condition in Kherameh region, all three studied lines had grain yield between the yields of checks, Amin and Danesh, with the grain yield of 7273 and 8685 kg ha-1, respectively. Considering all the agronomic characteristics of the cultivars and lines participating in this research, line MDH-99-10 was recommendable under conventional irrigation and lines M-99-9 and M-99-15 under both conventional and terminal drought stress conditions. Conducting this experiment in farmers' fields and holding extension workshops during the growing season made farmers, experts, and promoters more familiar with the agronomic characteristics of the new lines. The dissemination of these findings among other producers will increase wheat production in the future.
