One way to understand the strengths and weaknesses of meat strains is to measure and compare their performance at various areas. This study was conducted to evaluating of the performance of Arian strain in broiler breeding farms in Ilam province. First, the units that had cultivated the Arian strain in the previous period were identified. Then, using multi-stage cluster sampling and a questionnaire, the performance of thirty units in the cities of Ilam, Ivan, Chavar, Darehshahr, Abdanan, Malekshahi, Dehloran, Sirvan, Cherdavol, and Holilan was examined. The results of the study indicated that in terms of personnel, hygienic status and the conditions of the breeding house, the studied units are in favorable conditions. Average performance traits including slaughter age(day), mortality, daily weight gain(g/d), feed conversion ratio, survival rate and production index was 54.9, 14.4, 37.6, 2.4, 85.7 and 169.9, respectively that indicates the low performance of this strain in the province. The results of the study indicated that the cities of the province do not have significant differences in terms of the performance traits of slaughter age (day), daily weight gain (g) and feed conversion ratio, but in terms of mortality percentage and production index their differences were significant(p<0.05). The highest percentage of mortality was in Cherdavel (35.5) and Dehloran (34), respectively, and the lowest percentage of mortality was in Sirvan (6.9). Also, in terms of production index, Ilam (216) and Sirvan (213) were the highest, and chardavol (102) was the lowest amount. The average pH of the water samples was 7.85, and all cities did not have a significant difference in terms of this characteristic of water consumption, but the average TDS of the water samples in the province was 301.6, and the samples of the cities had a significant difference (p<0.05) in this respect. The highest TDS was in Malekshahi city (525.3) and Ilam city (467.5), respectively, and the lowest TDS was in Dareh Shahr (161) and Dehloran (169) counties, respectively. In general, in all the poultry farms, pH and TDS was suitable for broiler chickens' production. Feed was similar in all cities and no statistically significant differences were observed between them. In general, the results obtained indicate the poor performance of the Arian strain in the studied units in Ilam province.
