This study was conducted to preliminarily evaluate 23 new sunflower hybrids for yield and agronomic traits, along with two check varieties, Zarrin and Azar, totaling 25 hybrids, in 2024 in Karaj, Borujerd, and Isfahan. The experiment was designed as a randomized complete block with three replications. Based on the average data from the three locations (Karaj, Isfahan, and Borujerd), the highest seed yield was recorded for the hybrid SUN1403-4 (3518 kg/ha), followed by Zarrin and SUN1403-15, ranking second and third, respectively. The hybrids Zarrin and SUN1403-19, with a growth period of 89 days, were the earliest maturing hybrids. The hybrid SUN1403-9, with a plant height of 130 cm, was the shortest, and stem bending in hybrids SUN1403-9, SUN1403-6, and SUN1403-7 was less than 35%, which was desirable. The highest thousand-seed weight was observed in Azar and SUN1403-3 (62 g), the highest number of seeds per head in SUN1403-19 (1018 seeds), and the highest oil content in SUN1403-13 (47.78%). The highest oil yield was recorded for SUN1403-1 at 1471 kg/ha. Based on seed yield, the hybrids SUN1403-4, SUN1403-15, and SUN1403-15 were selected as the top-performing hybrids in this study.
