Abstract
The purpose of current research was to identify the barley promising lines with high grain yield and acceptable stable for temperate regions (normal and drought conditions) of Iran. In this study, 18 promising lines of barley along with two checks were evaluated in eight agricultural research stations including Karaj, Varamin, Neishabour, Mashhad, Birjand, Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz (exprimet 1, normal, Checks include: Armaghan and MB-99-3) and Varamin, Birjand and yazd (exprimet 2, drought stress, Cheks include: Goharan and MB-99-12) during two consecutive cropping seasons, 2022-24. Means comparison showed that genotypes G2, G5, G8 and G20 in full irrigation condition and genotypes G8, G3, G2 and G5 in drought stress condition had more grain yield than to checks and other genotypes. For investigation of yield stability, non-parametric parameters include Si1, Si2, Si3, Si6 and parametric parameters include Coefficient of variance, Shukla’s stability variance, Wricke’s covalence, Kang’s rank-sum were used. Based on the results of mean comparison and yield stability evaluation, genotypes EMBYT401-2, EMBYT401-6 and EMBYT401-8 in normal and genotypes EMBYTD401-3, EMBYTD401-8 and EMBYTD401-18 in drought conditions had the acceptable yield performance and stability, respectively compared to other genotypes and were selected for investigation in On-farm conditions.
